After three days of hanging around the park, Lolo joined us and became a very awkward appendage to the mischief and very useful in front of the adults because he spoke differently from us. Lolo claimed that when he was eight years old, he had been abducted by the Selenites, had travelled in a latex-lined spaceship and had been abandoned on a suburban plot of land. He talked like this. He explained that the Selenites were not anthropomorphic and that they had stuck several sharp instruments into his body to measure his haemoglobin.<\/p>
After the initial laughter and mockery, we felt a certain respect for this way of expressing himselves with distinction, so we would roll over and over again to hear that the rocket was fusiform and that the illumination inside it was zenithal. From time to time, he would appear and tell us that he had arrived at the park peripatetically or that we were racially Caucasian.<\/p>
One evening we got off the Alameda and the suburban bus going to Pi\u00f1or threw him against the pavement. We swarmed around him to calm him down. He was stiff, but he didn’t seem to be in pain. We noticed that his face was very cold. He reached forward and looked at us calmly before announcing: I’m going to be like my father, cryonic for life.<\/p>
