Haste is a western luxury. Just as in the West, urgency is so often used as an excuse. We cross the shores of the desert (and I know this is a European perspective) until we reach a crossroads with parked trucks. It is there that we stop, between those trucks. There are two or three first floor houses with covered porches as terraces. If we ignore the differences, they are roadside bars. There is rice. But all the manuals discourage foreigners to eat anywhere. It is not because of them; it is because the years of social welfare reduced the biological defenses of Europeans leaving us an organism somewhat lax in defensive matters or perhaps too confident in NATO. We enter a bar among the people finishing lunch and the bartender decides, as we are a group of peasants, to put us in a different room with a furniture that would be old even for a challenge center. Someone jokes about the VIP room, but we camp with some satisfaction. We review the offer and there is unanimous agreement that the option is the spark of life.
